Dublin Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire near the intersection of Route 101 and Old Peterborough Road on Tuesday.
At approximately 12:50 p.m., the crew confirmed the car’s engine compartment was on fire, with flames engulfing the windshield and passenger space, according to Deputy Chief Joe Sangermano. The woman driving the car escaped without injury, he said.
Route 101 closed until the fire was extinguished. The car was deemed a total loss.
The cause isn’t confirmed, but Sangermano said the fire likely started in the engine because it was a gas-powered car.
“There’s plenty that can go wrong in that situation,” Sangermano said.
