Over 90 children took part in the 35th annual Loran B. Hanson Memorial Fishing Derby at Otter Brook in Peterborough on Saturday. The tournament is organized by the Peterborough Recreation Department and the Peterborough Fire Department.

Cody Boutwell of the Peterborough Fire & Rescue, who was the primary organizer of the event, said the National Fish Hatchery donated more than 200 trout, with additional fish from the Sumner Hatchery in Ossipee.

“It’s just fantastic to see so many kids out here today,” Boutwell said.

The first-place trophy winner was 11-year-old Dakota Wolhok of Marlow with a 16¾-inch trout. Second place was won by 7-year-old Jaxson Boyd of Northwood with a 16½-inch trout, and 8-year-old Raven Van Horn of Peterborough took third place with a 16½-inch trout.
