Two young sisters taken by their father, considered missing and endangered after their mother was found dead Thursday night, have been located and are safe.

Early Friday morning, police asked for the public’s help to locate 37-year-old Dusten Mark Duren and his two daughters – 4-year-old Elowyn Duren and 1-year-old Vaelyn Duren – after he left Berlin with them around 8 p.m. Thursday night.

Around 10:30 p.m. State Police and the Berlin Police Department responded to an apartment on Main Street in Berlin and found the body of 31-year-old Caitlyn Naffziger, the mother of the two girls.

As part of the investigation into Naffziger’s death, authorities issued the Amber Alert for the missing children directly to cellphones around 3:30 a.m., noting that Duren had been spotted in Concord around 10 p.m.

State Police announced at 10:35 a.m. that the girls were safe.

Duren is “with police in Keene,” according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office, but no arrest has been announced.
