The Antrim Wind Project may be changing ownership, according to court documents.

Walden Green Energy Northeast Wind LLC and Walden Antrim LLC – both owned by Walden Green Energy, LLC – recently filed a joint petition with the NH Site Evaluation Committee (SEC), requesting the appointment of a three-member subcommittee to review and approve the transfer membership interests in Antrim Wind Energy, LLC – the applicant for the planned 28.8-megawatt wind facility – to Antrim Level LLC, a subsidiary of TransAlta Corp.

Antrim Wind Energy has already submitted a notice for the start of construction of the Antrim Wind Project to the state Department of Environmental Services (DES). The company plans to install nine turbines along Tuttle Hill and Willard Mountain. Plans call for the project to reach commercial operation by Aug. 30, 2019.

Walden and Antrim Level entered a purchase and sales agreement in February. Antrim Level will purchase all membership interests in Antrim Wind Energy and step in as owner of the LLC, subject to SEC approval.

Antrim Level is already providing the debt financing for the project’s construction. If the change in ownership falls through, Antrim Wind Energy will complete construction and repay the debt owed to Antrim Level.

An order to appoint a subcommittee was issued on Aug. 16. A prehearing conference has been set for Sept. 25. A public hearing has yet to be scheduled.

Anyone seeking to intervene in the proceedings can submit a motion to intervene by Sept. 7. All motions must comply with RSA 541-A:32 and the N.H. CODE OF ADMIN. RULES Site 202.11 and should be sent through e-mail to the most updated distribution list on the committee’s website  at www.nhsec.nh.gov/projects/2018-03/sec_2018-03_e-mail_addresses.pdf
