Monadnock Oil and Vinegar opens store

Last modified: Monday, January 20, 2014
The Monadnock Oil and Vinegar Company opened its doors at 43 Grove St. in late December in the same building as Ava Marie’s Handmade Chocolates & Ice Cream.

Owners Korey Snow and Kim Homoleski have been working on the idea for the past three years.

Having grown up in Hollis, the Snows now reside in New Ipswich, where they tend their own garden. They are avid beekeepers and members of the Monadnock Beekeepers Association. They hope to supply the store with their own honey, as well as Kim’s pickles in the coming months. Korey grew up on a dairy farm and continues to put his woodworking talents to work. A new sideline for Korey is the making of the wooden crates used as gift baskets for the oils, vinegars and other products in the store.

The store currently offers more than 20 varieties of extra virgin olive oil and that number is growing. The balsamic line up includes over 15 infused products in both white and dark, including dark chocolate, cranberry pear and fig flavors.

The store is also selling pastas, sauces and bruschetta. There are plans to host special events to introduce patrons to recipes and cooking demonstrations, as well as food pairings. The store in the winter season is open Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
