Andy Harris of Hannaford Supermarket has been selected as the Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 Business Leader of the Year, according to the chamber.

Harris will be honored with this award at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner Dance Gala on January 30, 2016, at the Hidden Hills Banquet Facility. Each year the honor is awarded to an individual who has shown outstanding success in business or industry through meaningful contributions to the greater business community.

Harris has worked for Hannaford Supermarket since 1990, and is the store manager in its Rindge supermarket. Due to Harris’s diligence and management, Hannaford’s has a comprehensive recycling program. Weekly food donations are given to three food pantries in the area, and food is also donated to many local farms to help feed livestock and reduce food waste. Harris also makes sure that Hannaford is generous to community projects and events with donations to local auctions and support of various Chamber of Commerce community events. He is also involved in the “Welcome Table” at the Congregational Church, donating food for luncheons and other occasions.

Harris serves on many committees within the community, including “NH the Beautiful,” a committee dedicated to making the United States a better place through continued research on better ways to recycle, and the board of the advisory committee for the Department of Agriculture. A New Hampshire resident since 1983, Harris enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as fishing, hunting, hiking, boating and maple sugaring.
