Betz now senior vice president

Members First Credit Union of Manchester has promoted Karl F. Betz, of Peterborough, to senior vice president and chief financial officer. As a member of the credit union’s executive team, Betz is responsible for oversight of the treasury, investment and accounting functions.

“We are thrilled to announce Karl’s promotion to senior vice president and chief financial officer,” said Bruce Leighton, president and CEO. “He is a seasoned financial and accounting professional who brings skill and leadership to our institution.”

Betz has more than 25 years of accounting and financial accounting experience, and joined Members First in 2013 as vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to Members First, he served as senior vice president, enterprise risk management at GFA Federal Credit Union in Gardner, Massachusets. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and a master’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University in Boston.

“I am honored by this promotion and the opportunity to serve as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Members First,” said Betz. “It is an exciting time for the credit union with the opening of our new branch in Bedford, and the introduction of new products and services for our members.”

Betz is an active volunteer who has served numerous organizations throughout the Monadnock region of New Hampshire, including the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis Club; Monadnock United Way; All Saints Church; and Conval Soccer Club.

Betz enjoys spending time with his wife, Lynne, and their five children as well as golfing.
