A bicyclist was airlifted on Wednesday evening after a collision with a car at the Y-intersection of Howard Hill Road and Michigan Road in Jaffrey.
According to Jaffrey Police Chief Todd Muilenberg, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Paul Belanger, 62, of Jaffrey, was riding a bicycle on Howard Hill Road when Andre Henault, 80, of Jaffrey, passed Belanger to turn right onto Michigan Road. At the same time, Belanger attempted to veer left to continue on Howard Hill Road, and his bicycle collided with the side of Henault’s 2017 Buick.
Belanger sustained injuries to his lower body, and was airlifted by medical helicopter to Elliot Hospital in Manchester. His injuries were serious but not believed to be life-threatening, said Muilenberg.
