Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man found in Coos County, who is believed by officials to be Keene resident Jonathan Amerault.

Amerault, age 25, was previously reported missing after failing to show up for work in Jaffrey on Monday morning, but was last heard from by family and friends on Saturday.

The deceased man was discovered late on Tuesday evening, in the unincorporated area of Atkinson and Gilmanton Academy Grant, located in Coos County. Officials identified the body as Amerault in a press release issued by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office late Wednesday afternoon.

Based on the information currently known by investigators, the release said there does not appear to be any danger to the public, but Amerault’s death is considered suspicious.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Amerault since Saturday, Sept. 19, should contact New Hampshire State Police at 603-MCU-TIPS (603-628-8477).
