Following this week’s February vacation, Mascenic’s Boynton Middle School will be in a fully remote model for two weeks.

Students at Boynton Middle can expect to be in remote learning from March 1 through March 15.

“This decision, supported by the Mascenic School Board, is out of an abundance of caution/safety for our students, and is due to a number of staff-related issues,” the district said in its weekly COVID-19/Remote learning update, published on its website on Wednesday.

The same announcement refers to the district’s February vacation travel protocols. Parents or staff intending to travel over the break are asked to report the travel to their child’s school office or nurse.

Those who travel outside of New England, regardless of transportation and lodging, must quarantine for a full 10 days after returning to New Hampshire and self-monitor and report any symptoms for a full 14 days after their return.

Students and staff are not able to “test out” of quarantine.

“The full quarantine period must be fulfilled, regardless of negative results and the quarantine period may be extended upon receipt of positive results or development of symptoms during quarantine,” according to the district’s policy.
