To celebrate the finale of Jaffrey Public Library’s summer reading program, Simon Brooks led an interactive storytelling presentation. Audience members of all ages sat on the library’s front lawn, enjoying the early August sun with their friends and families.
“The librarians work so hard here and take the time to get to know us,” Colleen Ringer of Jaffrey said.
Both of Ringer’s children and her niece partook in the reading program, which was organized by bingo cards with library challenges, raffle tickets and weekly prize drawings. Participants could also choose to place their tickets in the grand prize drawings, which were on display all summer long.
“It has been a very busy summer with excitingly high levels of engagement,” Library Director Julie Perrin said. “We are happy to be back to in-person programming.”
The Masons of Charity Lodge No. 18 awarded Jaffrey Public Library the Community Builders Award for “outstanding service to the community” and “significant efforts towards making our community a better place in which to live.”
“This was such a surprise and a true honor for the library," Perrin stated.
A grant from Children's Literacy Foundation (CLiF) supported the program.
