Apollo Steel has been named the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Business of the Year.

Apollo Steel, which was founded by Cliff Pelissier in 2008, is being recognized for their countless contributions to a number of charitable initiatives in the community.

“I think a business needs to do what they can to support its community,” said Pelissier, in an interview Thursday. “We like to do our part.”

Apollo Steel is a structural steel fabrication and construction company that specializes in welding, miscellaneous metal, and structural steel planning, fabrication and erection. They work on a number of projects, including residential and commercial construction, renovations and municipal projects such as schools, town halls, and prisons.

Apollo Steel has helped a number of organizations through the years, including Conant Athletics, the Boy Scouts of America, Shelter from the Storm, The Park Theatre, and more. The business has also sponsored a number of Chamber events like the Ron Despres Golf Classic and the Motorcycle Poker Run.

“They sponsor events and donate to all of these causes,” said Chamber Executive Director Max Mitchell. “They’ve also done a lot for the Chamber.”

Pelissier said he doesn’t have that large of a company, but still does everything he can do to help the town he has called home over the past 40 years.

“Every little bit helps,” said Pelissier. “For some of these organizations, [donations] are the only way they get their money.”
