The Francestown Recreation Commission’s new Francestown Academy Coffeehouse will begin Saturday, Jan. 7, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 27 Main St.

The coffeehouse will be held on the first Saturday of each month from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The first half of the evening will contain six 15-minute slots. After a brief intermission, there will be a half-hour set from the evening’s featured performers. Differing from an open mic format, all acts will be scheduled.

Acts for the opening coffeehouse include Fred Sprague, LizzFerdina, Dan & Faith Senie, Gary Schnakenburg, Amy Conley and David Lister, and the featured act is Off the Cuff.

There will be a $5 suggested donation at the door that will be used for coffeehouse supplies and to raise funds for other Recreation Commission activities and causes. Coffee, tea, cocoa and water will be available, and those attending are encouraged to bring a dessert, snack or appetizer to share.

Pam and JP Stohrer will be the coffeehouse hosts. Contact them at pamelastohrer@gmail.com  for information, to ask about performing or to be added to the coffeehouse mailing list. People can also look for information on the Francestown Academy Coffeehouse Facebook page, on the Francestown Community Facebook page and in the online town calendar.
