ConVal’s golf team is the first Cougar sports team approved to participate in interscholastic competition this fall, though only one ConVal golfer plans to compete in the Division III team tournament at Derryfield.

Last week, the school approved sending golfers Brady Proctor, Alex Heck, Brigham Boice, Logan Burnham and Wyatt Burbank to the DIII tournament, which was scheduled for Tuesday but will now be held next week due to weather concerns, pending an official announcement by the NHIAA.

The school’s approval was contingent upon the athletes agreeing to quarantine for 14 days following the last day of competition, ConVal athletic director John Reitnauer said Monday afternoon, and only Proctor’s family agreed to the conditions.

Proctor will tee off Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Conant will be in action as well, as Draven Seppala, Francesca Ketola, Grant Ketola, Hayden Ketola and Jordan Ketola also hit the links at 9 a.m.

Mascenic will compete in the Division IV championship at Kingswood Country Club, where Joe Lisio, Ryan Goodrich, Bryce Traffie, Casey Brox and Spencer Sikkila will represent the Vikings. The Division IV tournament was scheduled to start Thursday.

On Thursday, Conant and Mascenic wrapped up their regular season with a match against Keene and Monadnock at Bretwood. Mascenic’s Joe Lisio was the medalist by nine strokes with his stellar 39 to help the Vikings pull off the win. Also scoring for Mascenic were Ryan  Goodrich (47), Spencer Sikkila (57), Bryce Traffie (63), Casey Brox (67), and Stetson Hammit (68).

Conant finished third, with Hayden Ketola’s 46 good for the second-best individual score. Also scoring for Conant were Jordan Ketola (56), Grant Ketola (53), Jacob DiPasquale (66), Francesca Ketola (62) and Draven Seppala (68).
