Senior running back Scott Stanley had his way with Kingswood on Friday night during ConVal’s home opener, rushing for four touchdowns and 96 yards on 11 carries as the Cougars won 35-6. ConVal is now 3-0 on the season with a homecoming matchup with Sanborn (1-2) Friday at 7 p.m.

Senior quarterback Dan pezzaferri actually outgained his backfield on the ground, with 158 yards on 16 attempts for a cool 9.9 yards per carry. He’d also go 17-20 passing for 123 yards and a touchdown.

Makeen Wilson put on a show from the cornerback position, picking off three passes. Zach Obuchowski led the defense with nine tackles.

Receiver Sam West made his presence felt with six catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.

The undefeated start for ConVal puts them in a tie for first place in Division II South with a pair of 3-0 teams — Windham and Saint Thomas Aquinas. No other DII South team has more than one win. ConVal will play both teams in the final two games of their season, but first, Sanborn, whose lone win came over lowly Manchester West after losing to Saint Thomas and Hollis-Brookline.
