Several local athletes are playing summer American Legion baseball for Post 4 out of Keene.

Brady Carpentiere, a 2023 ConVal graduate, and Nate Pimental are on the senior team roster. Justin Borges and Zach Pease, who played varsity baseball for the ConVal Cougars this past spring, are on the junior team roster, although Borges plays for both the junior and senior teams.

Borges, who will be a senior at ConVal in the fall, saw Legion ball as an opportunity to gain more experience over the summer.

"I always enjoy learning under new coaches and trying to understand the game from their perspective,” he said.

Carpentiere recently earned a win for Keene Post 4 in the opening game of the 48th annual Gubby Underwood Tournament on June 23, which Keene went on to win.

The senior team is currently 6-4 in third place in District A. They wrap up their regular season on July 15. The junior team is in second place in Junior District A with a 4-2 record. The junior team wraps up its regular season on July 22.
