ConVal Athletics to collect donations Friday

ConVal’s Athletics and ConVal High School have partnered with community volunteers and the Friends of ConVal Athletics to participate in WMUR’s annual NH Tackles Hunger food drive.

As part of the drive, ConVal athletics will be collecting donations at sporting events Friday, Sept. 22. The matches include ConVal’s field hockey and soccer games at 4 p.m., volleyball game at 5:45 p.m. and football game at 7 p.m., all at ConVal High School, 184 Hancock Road, Peterborough.

ConVal also collected donations at the high school’s open house on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Items that are needed include: canned fruits and vegetables, applesauce, dried or canned beans (chickpeas, black beans, kidney beans, etc.), dried or canned lentils, canned tuna or other canned fish, canned chicken, peanut and other nut butters, mixed nuts, brown or wild rice, quinoa, barley or farro, rolled oats, whole-wheat pasta, crackers, oatmeal, soup or broths (low sodium), herbs and spices, sparkling water or seltzer, shelf-stable milk or non-dairy milk and 100% fruit juice

All food and monetary donations will be donated to local food pantries to help those in need.
