The ConVal High School volleyball team had its first games Saturday, taking part in the Plymouth State Volleyball Jamboree with Hanover High School and Plymouth Regional High School.

Emma Rodenhiser, a member of last year’s New Hampshire Volleyball Coaches’ Association all-state first team, stopped by to send the team off and wish them luck before she headed to college.

This year’s varsity roster consists of Brynn Frosch, Avery Moore, Taylor Ouellette, Maddy Desrosiers, Emily Steinberg, Ivy Armstrong-McEvoy (a second-team all-state player last season), Zadie Marshall, Ashlynn Williams, Piper Bernier, Emily Simard, Ava VanHorn, Lila Grissett, Grace Schuneman and Makayla Durgin. Amanda Hinton is the team’s coach.

ConVal volleyball opens with road contests against Gilford and Campbell Sept. 9 and 11 before its first home match against Manchester West Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. Last year’s squad lost to Campbell in the second round of the playoffs, but still compiled a school-best record of 14-4.
