The Town of Peterborough has named longtime resident Craig Fraley as recreation director. Fraley, a Certified Park and Recreation Professional, brings 20 years of municipal parks and recreation experience to the role.

Fraley began his career in Peterborough as a program coordinator in 2004. He served as recreation director in Rindge starting in 2010 and has spent the past 10 years as parks and recreation director in Amherst. In Amherst, he oversaw 12 year-round and 70 seasonal staff members and managed several community buildings, parks and athletic fields. Fraley also launched the “8 to 80 Initiative,” developed three new parks and created self-funded programming for the Peabody Mill Environmental Center and Baboosic Lake Town Beach.

Fraley also served with Peterborough Fire & Rescue from 2005 to 2015, reaching the rank of lieutenant.
