Local skiers fared well at the Southern NH Championships at Sunapee, with the state championships just two weeks away.

ConVal’s Rosie Crooker once again ascended the podium with her second-place finish in the GS race. Crooker finished her two runs in a combined 1:06.66, behind winner Elaine Taylor of Hanover (1:04.53).

The ConVal girls finished third as a team.

Crooker also took fourth in the slalom, behind Taylor and the Menard sisters of Hollis-Brookline.

It was Wilton-Lyndeborough’s Ian Van Ham who had the most success for the boys, as he took second in the GS, missing first by the smallest possible margin. Van Ham finished in 1:05.90, and winner Parker Lambert of Milford finished first in 1:05.89. ConVal’s Noah Krason, who had the fastest single run of the day, finished third with a combined 1:06.37.

Van Ham was also fourth in the slalom, where Krason took ninth and ConVal’s Keenan Wilson finished 11th.

The teams are back in action at Crotched Mountain Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
