Eloise Catlin of Dublin was part of the Brown University four boat that took third place in the Division I women’s rowing finals Sunday, finishing behind only Texas and Yale with a time of 7 minutes, 11.87 seconds.

The Bears found themselves in last at the beginning of the race before passing Princeton after the first 1,000 meters, Virginia at 1,500 meters and Stanford in the final stretch. The performance earned 20 points toward Brown’s total of 91, which placed the team seventh overall.

The boat also won a silver medal at the Ivy League championships on May 14, won the grand finals at the Eastern Sprints on April 30 and was undefeated at the Big 10 Invitational in Sarasota, Fla., in April.

Catlin is a senior at Brown and attended The Well School in Peterborough and St. Paul’s School in Concord, where she made the varsity team as a freshman. Before attending Brown, she won gold at the New England Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in the first varsity eight in 2017, 2018 and 2019, and at the Reading Amateur Regatta in 2017 and 2019.

She placed 14th at the Youth National Championships in 2019 and took silver at the Club National Championships in the A varsity four in 2018. She reached the finals of the Henley Women’s Regatta in 2017 and won silver at NEIRAs in the second varsity eight in 2016.
