Franklin Pierce University has released the name of the student found dead on Wednesday morning in a dorm room on campus.

Michael Flowers – a 20-year-old first-year student – was first found unresponsive by campus safety officials, according to a statement from the university.

“Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Michael Flowers, a first year student, and we are deeply saddened by this terrible loss of a member of our University community,” Kim Mooney, President of Franklin Pierce University, said in the statement.

No foul play or apparent threat to public is suspected at this time, Rindge police said Wednesday in a press release.

An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday to determine the cause of death.

Flags at Franklin Pierce University were lowered to half staff throughout the weekend to honor Flowers.
