Rindge Police arrested a 20-year-old Franklin Pierce University student after responding to an automatic fire alarm in a dorm last week and beginning a drug investigation in one of the dorm rooms.

Police arrested Christopher Guigni, 20, of Lowell, Mass., and charged  him with two misdemeanor-level and three felony-level drug offenses.

On Feb. 17, the Rindge Police and Rindge Fire Department responded to the Edgewood dormitory at Franklin Pierce to respond to a fire alarm. During the investigation of the dorm room which was determined to be the source of the alarm, police allegedly found one ounce of cocaine, three ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, more than one pound of marijuana, 30 amphetamine pills, 12 THC-infused chocolate bars and 75 THC-infused vape pods, as well as drug-related paraphernalia, according to a press release issued by the Rindge Police Department Thursday.

Guigni was charged with possession with intent to distribute charges. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the Cheshire Superior Court March 3.
