FPU to host open house for prospective students

Franklin Pierce University will host an open house on Sunday, Feb. 9 to give prospective students and families the opportunity to explore the school and see all it has to offer.

Starting at 10:15 a.m., there will be five block information sessions where high school sophomores, juniors and seniors can learn a little bit more about potential classes and majors. Students can pick one session to attend in each of the five blocks.

During Block A, from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., there will be sessions on athletics, Emergency Medical Services, The Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication, psychology and residential life. The arts at Franklin Pierce will run for 11 a.m  to 1 p.m..

Block B (11 to 11:30 a.m.) will include admissions 101, anthropology, communication, criminal justice, health sciences and history.

In Block C (11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) learn about biology, English and creative writing, human services, life beyond the classroom, student financial services and sports media.

Block D (12:30 to 1 p.m.) will have information on the Center for Academic Excellence, College of Business, digital media design, environmental science and environmental studies and Master of Physician Assistant studies.

The final information session will include Doctor of Physical Therapy program, education and Masters of Education program, political science, and internships and career planning.

For sports fans, check out the Q&A session with Patriots’s play-by-play announcers Bob Socci and ‘Hardy’ from the Zolak & Bertrand show during the fourth and fifth sessions.

Enjoy a complimentary lunch in the school’s dining hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Campus tours will be held throughout the day, from 8 to 9 a.m., leaving from the Bubble, and from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., departing from the Library Courtyard. Tours last approximately 45 minutes.

Check in and information tables will take place in the Bubble from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

FPU president Dr. Kim Mooney ‘83 and Linda Quimby, vice president for enrollment & university communications, will speak from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Bubble.

Student Financial Services, located in Clifford Coles Hall (next to admissions), will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
