A four-car garage in Antrim was destroyed by possible mechanical fire Wednesday evening, according to Antrim Fire Chief Marshall Gale.

The fire, which took place at 19 Clinton Road, started around 6:30 p.m. and was upgraded to a second alarm at 6:45 p.m. Firefighters from Antrim, Bennington, Hancock, Stoddard, Peterborough and Hillsborough were able to knock the fire down by 7 p.m.

There were no injuries and the main house at the location, which is detached from the garage, was not damaged.

Gale said he believes the fire started because of a mechanical issue — there were several vehicles stored in the garage.
