Looking for something to eat, perhaps a summertime treat? Options abound, from pizza and sandwiches to modern Italian and Southeast Asian fare.

And what says “summer” more than ice cream? Carol’s Ice Cream at 1170 Route 119 in Rindge offers 40 flavors of soft-serve, 25 flavors of hard-serve, fresh-baked cookies, banana splits, stacked and loaded sundaes and soft-serve frappes. Hours are noon to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

However, Carol’s isn’t just about ice cream, as Carol’s Wood Fired Pizza offers artisan pizza Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 7 p.m.

Car enthusiasts can check out cruise nights at Carol’s Wednesday nights from 5 to 8 p.m. Bring a classic or specialty vehicle for a night of wood-fired pizza and ice cream.

Fiddleheads at 28 Main St. in Hancock is set to reopen Memorial Day weekend under new owner Eleanor Briggs and manager Samantha Rule, who has worked in food service for 25 years.

Rule has created a new menu, and people should expect to see sandwiches, salads, entrees and espresso drinks. Coffee will come from Terra Nova Coffee, which is brewed in Keene, and Rule is looking to use locally produced foods.

Rule expects the restaurant to be open seven days a week, serving breakfast and lunch.

Executive chef Harris Welden owns both Bantam Grill and Pearl Restaurant & Oyster Bar at 1 Jaffrey Road in Peterborough.
