It was warm and sunny for Fracestown’s annual Tim Samuelson Memorial Kids Fishing Derby held at Bixby Pond on Sunday morning, and participants were reeling in rainbow trout all around the pond.

“This year was beautiful,” said Recreation Commission Chair Meagan Kerris, “This was one of the best years in a while.”

The derby is for Francestown children and teenagers up to 16 years old, and Kerris said they had a good turnout all morning, including lots of local families and people who participate every year. Participants could catch up to five fish each.

The derby winners were awarded prizes in various categories donated by the Samuelson family.
