The Francestown Recreation Commission  is hosting youth basketball in the Francestown Elementary School multipurpose room Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30 p.m to 4:45 p.m.

This is the second year of the program, and Francestown children are still welcome to join.

“Last year we had 17 children register. This year, we have 27,” said Recreation Commission volunteer director Bob Bitterli. “It’s really most of the school taking part, and we’re having a ball.”

According to Bitterli, last year, the players split into two groups to scrimmage. This year, the Recreation Commission is hoping to organize a game with a team from a neighboring town.

“We’d love to play Greenfield or Bennington or Antrim,” Bitterli said. “We’ll be reaching out to see what we can figure out.”

All Francestown youth ages 5 to 11 are invited to participate.  Homeschooled children and children attending schools other than FES should go to francestownnh.org/sites/g/files/vyhlif581/f/uploads/registration_form.pdf for the registration form and return it to the town offices.

For information, send email to recreation@francestownnh.org.
