Francestown police are asking for help in locating a hunter or hunters who negligently shot their firearms near a Woodward Hill Road residence on Monday evening.

Police responded to the residence around 5 p.m. Monday to investigate a criminal mischief complaint, according to a press release issued Wednesday afternoon, finding that a 2012 John Deere tractor on the property had been damaged.

Police investigation concludes that two shots were fired around 2 p.m. in close proximity to the residence, while an additional two gunshots were heard shortly thereafter – again nearby the residence.

The windshield of the tractor was found to be shattered.

Police determined through evidence on scene that the guns were likely fired from the area of Stevens Road, just south of 2nd New Hampshire Turnpike South.

The firearms were fired in the westerly direction of the property owners land, the release said.

Police say it is possible that the hunters were parked on the side of Stevens Road or Woodward Hill Road near the 2nd New Hampshire Turnpike South.

Anyone who observed vehicles in the area of Stevens Road on Nov. 5 between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. is asked to contact the Francestown Police Department at 547-2043.
