FrancestownCourier service cuts town costs

Francestown recently started to use a courier service to save on costs following the closure of TD Bank’s New Boston branch closing in the fall.

Town Administrator Jamie Pike said the bank had offered a courier service for the town’s tax collector and clerk activities when it closed, but it wasn’t until the town noted the mileage and time spent going back and forth to the bank in Peterborough that they decided to opt into the courier service instead.

The courier follows a daily route through Francestown from Keene, Pike said, and picks up monies from the New Boston town offices and elementary school as well.
