Franklin Pierce hosting candidate forum

Franklin Pierce University and the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication, in partnership with the Peterborough Plus Unit of the League of Women Voters – New Hampshire, and the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript, will host a public Rindge candidates forum Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Spagnuolo Hall. 

Invites have been extended to candidates for Executive Council, the state Senate and the state House of Representatives. The following candidates have confirmed their participation:   

-- State Representative for Cheshire District 14: Hannah Bissex (D),  John Hunt (R).

-- State Representative for Cheshire District 18: John W. McCarthy (D), Jeffrey C. Dickler (D), Matthew Santonastaso (R), Jim Qualey (R).

-- Executive Council District 5: Shoshanna Kelly (D).

Invitations have also been extended to candidates for Cheshire County Sheriff, county attorney, county treasurer, register of deeds, register of probate and county commissioner.  

A final list of candidates who have accepted invitations will be announced by Oct. 31.

Christina Cliff, associate professor of political science, will serve as the moderator for the event.

The public can attend the forum in person by registering at docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeptsFPaBz-K5f1Ca1GROC0BmXevokeS36tIx2uJbppPnd5Pg/viewform. The doors will open at 5 p.m.

A shuttle will be available to assist those who need it to get to and from Spagnuolo Hall.

The forum will also be available to view via livestream at fpuadminstream.com.

Questions for the candidates may be submitted in-person during the forum, via email during the ticket reservation process or in advance or during the livestream by sending email to fitzwaterproductions@franklinpierce.edu.
