Yankee humorist Fred Marple will return to the Hancock Congregational Church vestry, 47 Main St., Saturday, April 15 at 7:30 pm.

Marple will bring the latest news from his home town of Frost Heaves, including a report on the winter carnival, the results of town elections and the upcoming season of the town’s community theater group, the Frost Heaves Artists Repertory Theatre, FHART.

He’ll also perform original folk tunes, including his ode to the Old Man of the Mountain and humorous songs like “Brake for Moose” from his recently released “Crabby Road” album.

Marple has appeared on New Hampshire Chronicle, in the pages of Yankee Magazine and New Hampshire Magazine, on the radio and at town halls, church basements and the homes of most of his friends. He is the unofficial spokesman for the mythical town of Frost Heaves and is on a one-man campaign to put the town back on the map.

“It’s a one-man crusade because everyone else has real jobs,” Marple stated.

Attendees will be eligible to win door prizes, including actual items from the Frost Heaves swap shop.

“It's wonderful to be returning to Hancock,” Marple stated. “It just goes to show that the folks there are very forgiving. Or forgetful. One or t’other.”

Marple’s show is sponsored by the Hancock Congregational Church to benefit the maintenance of the church’s historic buildings. Tickets are $15, available at the door, the Hancock Market and online at fredmarple.com.
