The U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive of the Week was arrested in Rindge by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday morning.

Frederick Piercey, 42, was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by the Keene Police Department for a sex offender registration violation for failing to register. Piercey is required to register as a sex offender due to a 2001 Hillsborough County Superior Court conviction for sexual assault and child pornography involving a vic
tim under 16 years old.

Piercey was named the Fugitive of the Week early Tuesday. The task force had checked several areas in Rindge, ultimately finding Piercey at a family member’s residence on Cider Mill Lane.

“Sometimes we get them the same day and sometimes it takes a couple weeks,” said Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Jeffrey White. “It’s a cooperative effort; it’s all about different state agencies working together.”

Piercey was arrested without incident and transported to the Keene Police Department for processing and holding until his initial court appearance.

The arrest was a cooperative effort of several members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force including the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputy US Marshals, and the Greenfield, Rindge, and Keene police departments.

A total of 6,628 arrested have been made by the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force since its inception in 2002. The Fugitive of the Week program has been a successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since 2007.
