Chamberlin Free Public Library, 45 Main St. in Greenville, will present “History and Mystery: A Genealogy Starter Guide," presented by Erin Moulton, Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m.

Genealogy is the exploration of ancestral lines and can be done through records, resources and artifacts. Moulton will present methods for research planning through the case study of Elsie Gaskin (a librarian from New Hampshire) to help people become better researchers.

Moulton writes books and tracks dead people. As a researcher, she has slipped into old records and explored past lives for herself and for others for over 14 years. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the New Hampshire Historical Society and the New Hampshire Society of Genealogists, and serves on the landmark committee for the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire. She has written several books, mostly for children. Her website is erinemoulton.com.

This program is free and open to the public and was made possible by a grant from New Hampshire Humanities.
