The Peterborough Elementary School chapter of Girls on the Run tackled cleaning up the Richard Mellor Trail for their annual community impact project.

The club members cleared the boardwalk, trimmed brush, raked, painted rocks, planted flowers and painted rocks on the trail, which is located next to the Peterborough Elementary School.

Girls on the Run is a national organization that provides a 10-week program for girls in third through eighth grade. The program concludes with a community service project and a celebratory 5K run.

On Saturday, the team concluded their season by running a 5K in Concord with over 2000 other Girls on the Run members from across the state.
