Greater Keene & Peterborough Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual gala Thursday, March 16, at Keene State College’s Zorn Dining Center.

The chamber will present the Windsor Brooks Business of the Year, the Citizen of the Year and a new award, the Ken Jue Nonprofit Organization of the Year. Jue, the former CEO of Monadnock Family Services, died in May, and was remembered a tireless supporter of the community and mental health services.

“Ken was a truly dedicated leader, philanthropist and friend to all, so I can’t think of anyone more deserving after which to name this new award.” stated Luca Paris, president and CEO of the chamber.

Chamber board member Alan Stroshine remembers him with admiration, stating, “Ken carried himself with a boundless optimism, a true belief in people and an endless capacity for compassion. While mental illness was a personal and professional focus, the nonprofit world held a prominent place in his heart.  He had a unique gift at establishing partnerships across organizations and people in our community to help lift everyone.”

Since the merger of the Keene and Peterborough chambers in 2021, there have been efforts to connect businesses from all communities and surrounding areas to promote the region and create a marketing campaign that brings renewed awareness and excitement to the Monadnock region. New marketing strategies will be unveiled in the coming months.

“We are excited to showcase the Greater Peterborough area and share that in our gala celebration with the whole region.” stated Paris.
