Inaugural Greenfield Spelling Bee is May 4

The inaugural Greenfield Spelling Bee will be Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to noon, with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. The event will take place at Greenfield Meetinghouse, 776 Forest Road.

Friends of the Greenfield Meetinghouse and the Stephenson Memorial Library are sponsoring the event, which is open to the public. Parking is free at the Greenfield Meetinghouse.

The spelling bee is open to children 7 to 14 years old. The four age groups are 7 and 8, 9 and 10, 10 and 11 and 13 and 14. Cash prizes will be given for first, second and third places for each age group. Registration is open to all local residents and is ongoing until April 20. Participants can register at the Stephenson Memorial Library, 761 Forest Road. Registration fee is $10 to be paid the day of the event, and $5 for each additional child per family.

Three sponsorship levels are available: Worker Bee Sponsorship at $50, Drone Bee Sponsorship at $150 and Queen Bee sponsorship at $250.
