A Greenville woman was seriously injured in a crash last week, when a vehicle going the wrong way on the Exit 8 ramp in Nashua collided with her car head-on.

Late on Wednesday night, shortly before midnight, State Police Troop B responded to the F.E. Everett Turnpike for a serious crash. Matthew L. Wicks, 37, of Nashua, while driving a 2018 Audi Q7, allegedly missed the right-hand turn at the intersection of the off ramp and Southwood Drive, according to a press release issued by state police. Wicks attempted to enter into the opposite lane, driving east in the westbound land, accelerated, and his vehicle crashed head on into a 2018 Hyndai Santa Fe driven by Carol B. Gates, 50, of Greenville.

Gates was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with serious injuries. Wicks was taken by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicated that impairment and speed were factors in the crash.

State police were assisted on scene by Nashua police, Nashua fire and rescue, Boston Med Flight, and New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

Anyone with any information regarding this crash is asked to contact Trooper Dan Roger at 223-4381 or daniel.roger@dos.nh.gov.
