Hancock Town Library names Bikes for Books winners

The Hancock Town Library has announced the winners of the 2023 Bikes for Books Program. The Peterborough Masons donated the bikes.

Thirty-eight children, ranging in ages from 2 to 13 years, participated in the four-week program and together read a total of 529 hours. For each hour a child read, they earned a raffle ticket which could be entered toward the prize of their choice.

Grand prize winners of the two bikes were Harvey and brothers Hunter and Dakotah. However, when the Masons learned that Hunter and Dakotah had combined their entries and were planning to share the bike, they donated a third bike and helmet so the brothers could each have their own.

Other winners were: Lydia, who had her choice of a gift certificate to the Toadstool Bookstore or the Hancock Market; and Odelia, who won a large stuffed sea turtle. In addition, every child who participated in the program received a free book to take home.
