HANCOCKArt auction benefits Friends

An art auction to benefit the Friends of the Hancock Town Library will open Dec. 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Daniels Room of the Hancock Town Library, 25 Main St.

During the Dec. 2 event, people can view the art, have refreshments, meet the artists, make a bid and celebrate the start of the holiday season. The auction will include paintings, prints and photography, and artists include Evelien Bachrach, Larry Bickford, Peter Bott, Sue Callihan, Francelia Clark, Kim Cunningham and Kate Frame.

Bidding will start at the opening reception and end Dec. 16. Winners will be announced Dec. 17 in plenty of time for holiday gift giving. The auction can be viewed in the Daniels Room during regular library hours of 2 to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call the library  at 603-525-4411 before visiting to ensure no special events are scheduled at that time.
