A forecast of wind and rain for All Hallow’s Eve has some New England towns, including Peterborough, moving their designated Halloween trick or treat hours to avoid Thursday’s anticipated bad weather. But most towns in the Monadnock Region are sticking with Halloween, which is today.

Peterborough Deputy Town Administrator Nicole MacStay announced Wednesday morning that due to expected rain and wind on Halloween, trick-or-treating in Peterborough has been postponed until Saturday, Nov. 2, between the hours of 5 to 7 p.m.

In an email blast Tuesday AccuWeather said, “For boys and ghouls in the northeast, the AccuWeather RealFeel temperatures in the I-95 corridor could be very balmy that evening, with readings near 70. So mummies and daddies should not expect bone chattering lows. However, rainy conditions could prevail for the evening, making for a wet fright night.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, all other towns in our coverage area were sticking with Halloween, Thursday, for their trick or trick hours. TEAM Jaffrey announced on Facebook its planned trick or trick hours will stay on Halloween but did advise people to dress appropriately for the weather.

“Tomorrow, no matter what the weather brings, we are looking forward to seeing your ghoulish costumes!” TEAM Jaffrey said in its post. “Rain, snow or shine we will be there – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Jaffrey Commons.”
