Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Hillfest Worship Festival in New Ipswich, this year’s event on July 21 promises to be even bigger and better.

“It exceeded our expectations of what it would be,” said organizer Chad Gibson of last year’s debut of the Christian music festival, which drew around 1,000. “It went really well.”

Presales have already doubled where they were last year, Gibson said, and he’s been able to book bigger acts for the show as well.

“The level, top to bottom as far as national recognition has gone up quite a bit,” Gibson said.

Headlining things will be Tenth Avenue North, a contemporary Christian band out of West Palm Beach, Florida.

“We’re just really excited to have them here,” Gibson said. The band is touring with their latest record “Followers,” and has a few No. 1 hits like “Control” under their belts already.

Also appearing at the festival are Unspoken, Aaron Shust, Hannah Kerr, Dave Pettegrew, Jonas Woods and Lauren Demaio. Gibson has been traveling to see the hottest Christian bands over the past few years, and then trying to bring them to New Ipswich.

“Sometimes I go to see the headliner and I end up liking the opening act or the lesser-known person more than I was expecting, and I think people will maybe find the same with some of the smaller acts as well,” Gibson said.

Hillfest comes to Lord’s Valley, a sweeping, expansive property at 104 Locke Road in New Ipswich, on Saturday, July 21. Tickets and more information are available at hillfest.hfcnh.org.
