The new owners of Identity Coffee Lab in Rindge are looking to expand to new locations throughout New England.

New England natives Jonathan and Britney Cashman are the newest owners of Identity Coffee Lab, a specialty coffee shop along Route 119 that serves an assortment of high-quality coffee drinks and locally sourced food. The couple purchased the business in November 2022 from Brendan Ojala with the goal of bringing fair-trade coffee and great-tasting food to the Monadnock region.

In just two months since owning and operating Identity Coffee Lab, the couple opened a second location at Mount Wachusett’s base lodge, and are hoping to expand to a third location in Massachusetts in the near future.

Britney said she wanted to take the business to new heights while also honoring Ojala’s four-year legacy.

“We were customers before we were owners, and we loved it,” said Britney. “It was an easy decision to buy this because we didn’t want to change anything, but we want to keep expanding it.”

The couple also plans to host outdoor concerts at their Rindge location, a tradition originally started by Ojala. Jonathan said the community has been very supportive of their current and future business plans.

“As the new owners, I believe we were really well-received,” said Jonathan.

With just two months of experience under her belt, Britney said she hopes to make every Identity Coffee Lab a safe space for all community members to go to.
