A Jaffrey man has been indicted by the Cheshire Superior Court on a felony level theft charge.

Michael C. Steever, 37, was indicted on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer after stealing rolls of lead flashing, from Hamshaw Lumber in Keene. The construction materials were worth more than $1,500.

The charge is a class A felony.

Indictments are not an indicator of guilt or innocence, but show that a grand jury found there was enough evidence of a crime to bring the case to trial.
