The J Field Foundation, founded by Peterborough resident Jennifer Field, seeks golfers for its golf tournament Monday, Aug. 28, at The Shattuck in Jaffrey.

All proceeds benefit veterans and children living with traumatic brain injuries.

While a student at the Dublin School, Jennifer Field suffered a brain injury when the car she was driving hit a patch of ice and slid across the yellow line into an oncoming tractor-trailer. What should have been a routine commute home at the end of her school day, turned into a fight for her life, and ultimately a life committed to helping others with traumatic brain injuries.

Cost is $450 per foursome or $125 per golfer, which includes 18 holes, a cart, lunch and prizes. No matter one's handicap, everyone can be a winner in the dozens of raffles.

If unable to put a foursome together, organizers will help form teams. Check-in starts at 8 a.m. Shotgun start is at 9 a.m., and the tournament is in a scramble format.

Originally called the Foley Strong Golf Tournament, the event was created by Lisa and Patrick Foley's friends who rallied around the couple after Patrick sustained a traumatic brain injury in a car accident, which also badly injured Lisa.

The tournament gained its current name in 2019 when Lisa and Patrick Foley gifted the fundraiser to the J Field Foundation as a way to help more individuals living with brain injuries.
