Jaffrey Library Friends schedule book donation

Jaffrey Friends of the Library’s next Book Donation Saturday is Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon in the library’s main level Bean Room.

People can bring up to 15 books in good condition, and volunteers will screen them for our sales. These Saturdays are the only times book donations can be accepted, so people should not take any boxes or bags of books to the library staff or leave them in the outside book drop.

The criteria for accepting books are posted by the book sale locations on the main floor and the ower level across from the water fountain. Recent hardback and paperback fiction books are very popular, but recent nonfiction and classics also sell. The Friends can’t accept library discards, magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, travel guides, medical, financial advice and computer books.

Sale shelves are reviewed and replenished weekly by volunteers. Funds raised by the Friends of the Jaffrey Library help support library services and programs, including T-Mobile hot spots, museum and park passes (check out the NH State Park Pass) and databases such as Ancestry.com.
