Friends of the Jaffrey Library accepting book donations

Published: 11-08-2024 8:00 AM

The Friends of the Jaffrey Library will accept gently used book donations on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bean Room at Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St.

Donations are limited to 20 books in good condition, free of writing, tears or stains. Volunteers will review items for potential sale. Popular items include recent fiction, nonfiction and children’s books. Magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks and specific types of guides are not accepted. Funds raised from sales support library resources such as T-Mobile Hot Spots, museum and park passes and databases including ancestry.com.

On Nov. 23, the Friends will hold a special sale of children’s books discarded from the library, coinciding with a visit from Santa. Families can meet Santa on the main level, with bargain-hunting downstairs.

The last donation day this year is Dec. 14.
