Jaffrey-Rindge's Martin Luther King Jr. Day programs have received grants, ensuring the events will be free. Funding comes from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation’s Putnam Foundation, Rindge Woman’s Club, Savings Bank of Walpole, M&T Bank and C&S Wholesale Grocers, with additional support from the Community Center of Jaffrey.

The celebration starts Monday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. with bell-ringing at the United Church of Jaffrey, 54 Main St., and Cathedral of the Pines, 10 Hale Hill Road, Rindge, as part of the national MLK Day Bell-Ringing Ceremony. A keynote address will follow at the Cathedral of the Pines.

A family community event will take place Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 5 to 6 p.m. at The Park Theatre, 19 Main St., Jaffrey.

Both events are free and open to all.
