Friends of the Jaffrey Library seek book donations

On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Friends of the Jaffrey Library will hold their monthly Book Donation Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bean Room at Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St.

Volunteers who organize the ongoing book sales will be on hand to screen used books, up to 15 per person, for the ongoing sales. All donations need to be in good condition with no writing, tears or stains on the pages. Recent hardback and paperback fiction books are popular, but nonfiction books also sell well. The Friends can’t accept magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, travel guides, medical, financial advice and computer books, as they become outdated quickly.

These monthly Saturdays are the only times book donations can be accepted; people should not take any boxes or bags of books to the library staff or leave them in the outside book drop. Due to these donations, the two sale shelves on the lower and main levels are reviewed and replenished weekly. Funds raised help support library services and programs.
