Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School eighth grade Family and Consumer Sciences students battled for cupcake supremacy last week in the annual Cupcake Wars.

Coming out on top was “Cozy Campfire” cupcakes made by Maya Anton, Alannah Wanke-Brewer, Temitayo Giwa, Melora Charlonne and Helen Martynuska.

The student-favorite tasks groups of students with designing their own cupcake based on a theme, planning who is responsible for what task, and providing a detailed shopping list.

Each cupcake is made with no teacher input, challenging students to figure out everything from baking the cupcake to creating a staging area for a cupcake photo-op.
